About face!

I decided to make a couple of changes to the front of the house.  This was something I wanted originally and decided to do it after the fact. It was painful watching the demolition to perform this work but it came out perfect and I'm really pleased. Here's a before and after picture.

The work was performed by Charlotte Custom Stone who did the original stone work on the house.

  1. It looks great! I AM SO JEALOUS!!
I asked to have it done several times and they kept telling me no. Then I found a home in your neighborhood that had it done and they told me it could have been done FOR A GENEROUS COST, but I couldn't make anymore changes anyway. talk about hot!!!
Please, please, please inbox me thee name of the company you used...joiful17@gmail.com.

  2. It looks awesome!! It really stands out! It seems the original elevation is very common with the Verona's.

    1. Thanks! I was wondering if people realized I changed the porch roof from shingles to metal.

    2. I noticed the porch, but I was afraid that you had blogged about it before and I missed it, so I didn't mention anything. The whole transformation looks great and I'm sure it makes it stand out against your Verona row. I would love to see a pic of your street with all the Veronas :)

    3. I would have probably have to take a video of the street to show you how many Veronas there are. I'm very pleased that a Summerville is going up directly across the street from me so I have something different to look at.

    4. We have six Veronas in our neighborhood...one A, two Bs and three Cs. We were the last to go in. There are only a few lots left, so I'm hoping none of them are Veronas, especially if they are any of the new elevations that I would have preferred :)

    5. of 9 houses on my side of the street, 8 are Veronas. The 9th being a Summervile. There are many more Veronas in the subdivision. I think they invented new elevations here.

    6. That's crazy!! Wow, we long to see another Verona in our elevation in our neighborhood. There's one other Verona on the block but it's elevation A. We are in the land of Victoria Falls. The model is a Victoria Fall and it seems like everyone home that goes up falls suit. The other models in our section are Ravenna, Bainbridge Hall and Courtland Gate. Depending on the elevation you get, they can all look very very similar.

    7. Ha, since writing the above, another Verona has started going up on the street, and one more just closed around the corner. Yes, I suspect the model tends to be the most common plan.

    1. Ask for Rob or Matt. You can tell them similar job to what they did on Stuart's house.

  5. Looks amazing! What a wonderful change. I wanted to make changes to my front as well and was told we had to stick to the elevation. Boo.
